Christine Traversa -It's a blog hop aka blog leap!

In honor of Leap Year, So Suzy Stamps is having a bloggy leap hop!  Come join the fun!  Start the leap at So Suzy's Stamp Blog!, then continue hopping on the designated links!  Easy and fun!

After visiting my blog, visit Justine Hovey's for more crafty fun!  The blog hop lasts from 2/29-3/3, and did I mention a prize?  The winner will be announced on 3/6!  The winner of the blog hop wins one handmade card from each design team member!  That's a lot of handmade cards!

So join the fun!  Here is my card for this hop, this is the card you will win from me if you are the bloggy leap winner!:

To create this card, I used three dies I had on hand, the background rectangular circles die, and the two smaller stitched dies.  I used basic cardstock in the colors shown.  I folded and scored the main card, then added the rectangular diecut and a piece of white cardstock.  Using a Copic marker YG03, I colored a strip of cardstock and added it to the card front.

I placed the pink circle on dimensional adhesive and added it to the card.  Next I stamped the cone using Versamark embossing ink, and embossed with a light pink embossing powder.  I colored the cone using Copic Markers YG03, RV00, E31, YR31.  I adhered the cone to the white circle, after I fussy cut it out and tied pink cord from American Crafts and added a bow and heart pearl.

Next I stamped the sentiment onto a small piece of white cardstock with Versamark, and embossed again with pink powder.  I added the sentiment to the card using dimensional adhesive.

Both of these adorable stamps are available in Suzy's Shop at  Cone and Sweet, so come on over and check them out along with other adorable stamps and great crafting supplies!

We are also having a contest within our design team for card prizes too!  Would you consider voting for my card?  Just visit this link So Suzy's Blog and vote for me.  Near the bottom of the blog, there are photos of the contest cards with small hearts in the upper right corner.  Just click on the heart to vote. Easy!  So please vote for me!  I'd love to win handmade cards also!  :)  Thank you!

Here is my card for voting:

To create this card I used a folded white card in invitation size.  I added a slightly smaller piece of pink cardstock, and a heart die cut rectangle was used to cut another piece of slightly smaller white cardstock.  These cardstock pieces were all layered up and placed together on the card.  Next, using two rectangular stitched dies that I had on hand, I cut the two rectangles.  I cut a piece of vellum and stamped the sentiment on it, and embossed it with white embossing powder. I attached the vellum to the pink cardstock and placed this on the front of the card.

Next, I stamped the cone on a piece of white cardstock, using a black ink pad.  I fussy cut the cone, and colored it with markers.  I added Wink of Stella to the cone, and placed it on the white cardstock using dimensional adhesive.  I then added this element to the card front.  I tied a sheer pink bow on the left, and added a gem.  I also added two similar gems at the lower right corner.  The piece of vellum sticking out at the bottom of the card was trimmed with scissors.

Thanks again, and best of luck!

February release at So Suzy's Stamp of the Month Club! More fun! Volume 2!

Earlier this month I posted about the February release of the So Suzy's Stamp of the Month Club!  The release contains the adorable stamps shown below!  For this wonderful release, I created a greeting card using each one of the So Suzy's February release stamps!  The stamps this month include these two beautiful images!

Here is a copy of the card that I created using the second stamp image above:

To create this card, I dug deep into my stash of treasures!  First, I made a card using black cardstock as the backdrop.  Next, I found an old travel transparency in my supply collection!  I thought it was perfect to coordinate with Suzy's stamp!  I adhered the transparency to a piece of white cardstock.  Next, I found a few older gem style embellishments in three colors, and added them to the card front.

Then, I found a piece of unique leather like cardstock in a taupe/crème shade.  I trimmed this into a rectangular shape.  I stamped Suzy's stamp onto white cardstock, using Versamark and black embossing powder.  Then, using the embossing resist technique, I added Tim Holtz distress inks with a sponge in Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, and Tumbled Glass.  I then adhered the stamped cardstock to the leather like paper, to the card front using dimensional adhesive.  Finally, I tied a sheer pink bow at the top of the card.

I can't stop creating with Suzy's stamps.   The stamps at So Suzy's Stamp of the Month Club are adorable!  I encourage you to join the club today!  I'd love to see the projects you create with the monthly stamps!  Thanks for stopping by!

Challenge 32 over at the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog! Too fun!

It is time for challenge number 32 at the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog!  The theme of this challenge is "winter".  Simply use a stamp one year old or older and create a project using the "winter" theme.  Come join us!

For this challenge, I created the following card.

And here is a copy of the challenge graphic:

To create my card, I formed kraft cardstock into a card shape.  The, using a stitched square die, I cut out the top center part of the card front.  I took patterned paper from American Crafts and using the same die, cut a piece to put in the "hole" of the card front.  I love the addition the stitching makes to the card!

Then I placed a matching piece of trimmed cardstock on the lower card section, with the lower corner trimmed with my EK Success corner rounder.  Next, I stamped the Yeti (Lawn Fawn 2012 Yeti, Set, Go stamp set) on white cardstock and colored him with markers from Copic, R46, E31, E15, B00 and W1.  I trimmed him by hand and adhered him to the card using dimensional adhesive.  Next, I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock (same stamp set) and trimmed it. I colored the heart using Copic R46.  Then, I colored a piece of white paper with B00, and trimmed it as well.  I placed the sentiment on dimensional adhesive on the card front and the blue strip adhered with flat adhesive.  Finally, I added a snowflake embellishment and a heart (EK Success).  As a final touch I added clear Wink of Stella to the Yeti.

Thanks for looking!  Can't wait to see your creations!  Then please join us a week from this Sunday again over at the Retro Rubber Blog to learn the winner of this challenge!

February release at So Suzy's Stamp of the Month Club!

The February release of the So Suzy's Stamp of the Month Club is exciting!  The release contains the adorable stamps shown below!  For this wonderful release, I have created a greeting card using one of the So Suzy's February release stamps!  The stamps this month include these two beautiful images!

Here is a copy of the card that I created using the first stamp shown:

To create this card, I took a blank white card, invitation size, 4 1/4" by 5 1/2".  I added patterned paper to the card top and bottom, from a We R Memory Keepers 6" by 6" paper pad, named "Down The Boardwalk".  I used a couple dies to created the frame border on the left,  the scallop design at the middle, and the sentiment.  I also used papers from this paper pad with the dies.

With white cardstock, my Versamark embossing pad and some light blue embossing powder, I embossed the shell images using the shell stamp.  I added some Copic colors to the shells, that are very subtle.  N0, N1, W1.  I then fussy cut the shells with scissors, and added them to the card using dimensional adhesive, added the frame, the border, the sentiment, and a ribbon with a sweet bow.  I then added Zig Wink of Stella as a final touch, to add sparkle.

I couldn't stop creating with this lovely stamp!  The stamps at So Suzy's Stamp of the Month Club are adorable!  I encourage you to join the club today!  I'd love to see the projects you create with the monthly stamps!  Thanks for stopping by!

Retro Rubber Challenge Blog Challenge 31 is live!

Please come join the challenge over at the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog!  This time, the challenge involves using a stamp one year old or older, and Valentine's colors!  You can make a card, home décor item, scrapbook page or  more!

Here is the challenge graphic and the card I created for this challenge:

This card was so quick and basic!  I used white, cream and pink cardstock, a rectangular die, a Copic Marker, clear Wink of Stella, a stamp from Stampin' Up, some dimensional and flat adhesives, a small piece of patterned paper, and a corner rounder.

I stamped the image on cardstock in black ink, trimmed it, then colored with the marker.  I added dimensional adhesive to the rear, then mounted it on the cream paper.  Next, I created a folded card using the white paper, and die cut the front side.  Inside I placed the cream paper with image.  I added some pink cardstock to the inside of  the card, and the trimmed patterned paper.  So easy!  So quick!

I would love to see what you create so please join this challenge!  Then join us back a week from Sunday over at the Retro Rubber Blog to learn the challenge winner!
