Retro Rubber Challenge Blog, time for challenge 50!!

Come join the crafty fun!  Right now, the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog is hosting a photo color inspiration challenge.  Simply use a stamp one year old or older, and the chosen theme, and join us!

Here is the card I created using this challenge and the challenge graphic:

To create this card, I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks and a watercolor brush.  Taking watercolor paper in white, I "painted" using the inks and water.  I used several colors to mimic the graphic colors. Then I took a die, I believe it is from My Favorite Things, it has "stitching" and the "windows" shown.  I then took the cut out and applied it to a pre-made white invitation sized card.

Next, using a floral die set (again I believe it is from My Favorite Things) and black and white cardstock, I cut three floral images  I took pop dots and a rectangle that resulted from my original die-cutting of the window image, and placed the rectangle high on the card in the front center.  I stamped in black ink using a sentiment stamp that is from 2015 from Clearly Besotted, "Sentimental Type".  then, I added the floral diecuts in an overlapped style.

The card is so simple to make.  I love color graphics like this one from Retro Rubber.  It is so inspiring for my crafting!

Please join us in the challenge!  Then check back to the Retro Rubber Blog one week from this Sunday to learn the challenge winner!  I can't wait to see your creations!

Come join us! Retro Rubber challenge #49! Halloween!

Hi there!  Today it is time for Retro Rubber Challenge Blog's 49th challenge!  The theme this time involves using a theme of Halloween and a stamp one year old or older.  Too fun!  Here is the card that I created for this challenge and the theme challenge image:

To create this card, I took white cardstock and transformed it into an invitation sized card.  I trimmed and folded accordingly.  I rounded all four corners using my EK Success corner rounder.  Next, I added a sticker at the top from SRM Press.

Next I added some retro patterned paper that I love!  I added a small strip of black cardstock at the top of the patterned paper.  Using my Mini Misti and a stamp I bought at a craft show (Jean Arneson? 2013?). a few years ago I stamped in black ink onto white cardstock.  Using my Copic Markers I colored the image using colors that coordinated with my patterned paper.  Using Pop Dots I added this image to the card.  Then I restamped the image and cut off the cat's tail section and added that atop the original image for added dimension.  Again I used a Pop Dot.

I added a sentiment sticker from SRM, and two gems.  Then I added a small strip of black cardstock near the bottom and added a SRM rickrack style sticker.  Finally, I added a sticker from SRM matching the one at the top of the card.

I love how vivid this card turned out!  Happy Halloween!

I'd love to see your creations for this challenge!  So come join the fun!  Visit the Retro Rubber Blog today, then revisit one week from this coming Sunday, to learn the challenge winner
