Time for Retro Rubber Challenge #48! Let's have some fun!

Thanks for stopping by!  It is time for Retro Rubber Challenge Blog's 48th challenge!  The theme this time involves using lace, ribbon or twine and a stamp one year old or older.  Too fun!  Here is the card that I created for this challenge and the photo inspiration image:

I created a background card in red, invitation size.  I then added a slightly smaller piece of black cardstock to the front.  Then, I ran a stitching die over kraft cardstock, and added that to the card front.  Next, I added white cardstock to the top.  Then, I added a smaller piece of kraft to the front.  I placed a heart sticker on the upper right corner of the kraft.

Next, on white cardstock I stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink using a stampe set I have from the Rubber Cafe dated 2013.  It is called "You've Stolen My Heart".  I used the cat stamp and teh sentiment.  I colored the cats using Copic Markers.  I colored the background with very light pink.  I tied American Crafts twine onto the front.  I added a heart sticker on the lower left.  After putting pop dots in all corner I added this top layer to the card.

I'd love to see your creations for this challenge!  So come join the fun!  Visit the Retro Rubber Blog today, then revisit one week from this coming Sunday, to learn the challenge winner!

It's time for Retro Rubber Challenge #47! Check it out!

Please join us over at the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog for challenge #47.  The challenge involves using a theme of "anything goes!" and a stamp one year old or older!  Bring those old stamps back to life!

Here is the challenge graphic and the card I created using this challenge:

I love this challenge!  I used both old and new stamps, a sticker and a die-cut.  First I took a white card, invitation sized, blank.  I stamped onto it using an older, much older than 1 year old Tim Holtz background stamp that I own and love, from the Stampers Anonymous collection named "Wallpaper".  I used Colorbox Chalk Ink in French Blue.  This ink pad is really old and fell apart while I was inking the stamp!  I made a huge mess!  I used the ink pad pad as a sponge then and just pushed it all over the stamp surface.  This resulted in uneven inking which I thought was a disaster.  But afterwards, I decided I loved the uneven look!  It is so interesting in appearance I think!

Next, I took a piece of white cardstock smaller than the card, and stamped two water puddles and three plants using more chalk inks and my new Hero-Arts stamp set, Color Layering Flamingo.  On another piece of white cardstock I stamped the flamingo, using 3 Altenew inks and my Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I fussy cut the bird images, and had the legs not attached to the body at this time.  I attached the legs using regular adhesive to the bird.  Then I applied the entire bird to the cardstock using a pop dot.  I then ran black cardstock and a die into my die machine to create the word "hello".  I adhered this word atop the flamingo.

I took this piece of white cardstock and attached it to a larger piece of black cardstock.  Then, I placed these pieces onto the stamped card front.  Next, I added a SRM sentiment sticker at the bottom of the card.

Please join us in the challenge!  Then check back to the Retro Rubber Blog one week from this Sunday to learn the challenge winner!  I can't wait to see your creations!
