Exciting news and some cards too!

I have exciting news!  So excited to share! I have joined http://scrapnart.com/ - Scrap n' Art Magazine as a hybrid designer (and sometimes paper designer)!!  I am sooooooooooo looking forward to being creative and having fun!  The staff is so friendly and kind!  The projects are so diverse and creative!  I totally recommend that you hook up with SNA!

Some recent cards I have created include:

Love the SRM sticker on the bottom card.  The white sticker really pops on a black backing!  :)

And, a few more cards I made recently, two are hybrid, one is not.    The top card I created using a heart stamp as a guide, mini poms, and a rounded and raised effect on a SRM sticker!  The second card I used stamping, a chain, and hybrid elements and gems.  The next card is hybrid and I stamped the shoes using atypical ink.  Then I cut the shoes, and staggered their heights.  The bottom card I used mostly digital element plus google eyes for a fun effect.  Thanks for looking, thanks for stopping by!  :)

Making cards! And the PC Stamping Contest. :)

Did you submit to the Stamping Royalty contest over at Paper Crafts Magazine?  That is my favorite PC contest.  I know I've entered at least once previously, maybe twice?  Anyway, I submitted this time, and had an absolute great time doing so!

There are five categories in the contest, and this time I submitted to all five.  (a first for me)  I had ink all over my desk, as I stamped on pre-made embellishments, stamped on patterned paper, stamped and paper pieced, stamped and punched the same image multiple times, and stamped to make a worn/distressed look.

I ended up with five cards that I love.  And that feels great.  No expectations in the contest.  Just had fun making something from the heart.  And if my designs are not chosen, the cards go to someone I don't know to help lift them up!  That is so rewarding!

I also made a card and submitted it to a recent PC call.  I had fun using my favorite products, on all six cards.   I think the part that made me smile most was using SRM stickers on ribbons!  Love the effect!

I have a box of cards to send to Scrap and Stamp Arts, and I am hoping to beef up the box and include more.  Are you crafting this coming weekend?  I'd love to send more cards to PC for all calls right now.  And darn it, I missed another Cards Magazine call.  I'd love to create some cards for that.

And, YES, this weekend, I will go to the Teresa Collins class, soooo excited!  Thanks for dropping in, and I'd love to see what you are working on!  :)

Any crafty plans for you this weekend?

I am feeling so crafty this weekend!  My husband is working on finishing my craft room build, and it is motivating me to craft!

What are you planning to work on this weekend?  I am thinking of trying my hand at some publishing attempts, and some online challenges.

And, maybe blow the dust off my Silhouette machine??  I signed up for the designer edition software weeks ago, and am dying to try it!

I'd love to see what you are making?  Link me up!

And, if you know of any great online challenges (I know of some!), link me up too!

Here's some awesome news, I became aware of a new crafty shop not too far from here.  Creative Cards and Crafts, and signed up for a TERESA COLLINS class today!  Everyone who knows me knows I looooove Teresa's products sooooooooooooo much!  I was so fortunate to do some work with her products combined with SRM stickers for SRM!  Here are a couple projects, but I have more on the SRM Flickr, if you want to check them out, go to this page SRM Flickr Christine Traversa and try the page before that too!  :)

HUGE thanks to Claudia from CCAC and Teresa for getting me into this SOLD OUT class!  xoxo

Final steps, holiday card making in masses tutorial!

Step 8 involves making sure everything is stuck down tight on the cards, and making sure they are clean and presentable.  No stray marks, no stray scraps, etc..  Step 9 involves adding final embellishment, gems, Stickles, etc..  Anything you want to add to your cards to give them extra sparkle or attention.  Step 10 involves deciding how you are presenting/packaging the cards.

I plan to send some in the mail individually, but also give "packages" as gifts.  To do this, I place 5 similar themed cards (but you could do different themes!) with envelopes inside a close fitting cello bag.  I bought these ages ago at CelloBags.com.  Not sure if they are still around?

I tape the bag shut on the backside, then tie some inexpensive raffia around the pack.  (Michael's)

That's it!  So fun, so easy, so quick (well kind of!  LOL)  Thanks for joining me on this tutorial journey, I hope to do another again in the future!

I'd love to see your cards, hear your ideas, etc., so please share!  :)
(ps.  in photo above, I stickled the snowman's nose in orange, adding a red gem to the left, and stickled the holly berries in red on his hat)
