Here is the challenge graphic and the card I created using this challenge:
To create this card, I ran some white cardstock through an embossing folder, with background dots. It is from Darice. Next, I took a slightly smaller piece of white cardstock and a stitching die, and made the cut with design. I placed the stitched white cardstock over the embossed cardstock and adhered the two pieces together.
Below the embossed cardstock I inserted two pieces of colored cardstock, slightly larger in size. I placed all these elements attached atop a white invitation sized card. I took a thin, sheer yellow ribbon and tied it on to the card with a bow.
Next, I used black outline stickers from Krazy Kreations, and glittered cardstock from Krazy Kreations also. I applied the stickers to the cardstock, and used Copic markers to color inside the sticker borders. I fussy cut the stickers leaving a thin white border. I applied them to the card front using pop dots in an overlapping fashion.
Finally, I stamped on vellum using black ink with a sentiment from an older stamp set I own from Sweet Stamp Shop. I do not know exactly the age of the stamp, but I know I have had it for at least a couple years. I trimmed the vellum and cut the ends in banner style. I adhered the banner to the card using Glossy Accents.
Please join us in the challenge! Then check back to the Retro Rubber Blog one week from this Sunday to learn the challenge winner! I can't wait to see your creations!
Wow, love the stickers on the glitter paper colored with your copics! Great use of the vellum for the sentiment!
ReplyDeleteChristine, love the sparkle of the leaves in those beautiful colors, all the layers guide your eyes to the main panel and the gorgeous leaves.
ReplyDeleteOn a card like this, a sentiment stamped in Vellum is perfect, so you don't cover the beautiful design.
Hugs,
Maria.
Christine, loving the leaves, such a clever technique. You know I love Vellum :) Great idea to use it for your sentiment here, so it doesn't detract from the stunning leaves. Clairex
ReplyDeleteThose leaves sparkle like stained glass, Christine! A very lovely combination of elements! Particularly the ribbon bow!
ReplyDeletePretty! Those leaves are wonderful! Your use of the stitched dies made me buy one, by the way. Love it!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love how bright your card is with these fallish colors! Adding that yellow ribbon was nothing short of brilliant! I am digging the layered look of both the papers and the leaves! Excellent!
