Here is the challenge graphic and the card I created using this challenge:
I think I went a little out of my element with this one! Too fun! I used a stamp set that I have had on hand for a long time. Much longer than a year, although do not know its exact age. It is the "Boob Tubes" set from Paper Smooches. For my card I used three stamps from the set, the tv and the two words.
First I stamped the tv onto white cardstock using Memento Black Tuxedo ink. Inside the tv "screen" I stamped the word "news". I fussy cut the tv leaving a small white border. I colored it using Copic Markers and added Copic N1 as a shadow. I then started constructing the main card, using kraft cardstock in invitation size, folded and scored it accordingly, and using my EK Success corner rounder rounded two corners. I took some "Watercolor Wash" cardstock from My Favorite things in two colors coordinating with this challenge, cut into strips, then applied to white cardstock, leaving a thin white border to the left. I applied this panel to the card front. Then I stamped the lower word.
Next, I added the tv using pop dots. The black and white chevron unit is washi tape. I added sequins and stars. American Crafts black cord and misc. gold cord tied finished the card.
Please join us in the challenge! Then check back to the Retro Rubber Blog one week from this Sunday to learn the challenge winner! I can't wait to see your creations!
Hello Christine: Your fun and colorful card just made me smile, love this little TV. with it's NEWS word right on the screen, makes me forget about all the bad news lately and just think of good things.
