Oh my gosh what a fun challenge! I hope you can join us! I used an old background stamp that I have, I believe it is from Hero Arts. I used Memento ink in Lulu Lavender. This stamp has to be at least 5 years old. It is very basic, and a must have. If you cannot find one from Hero Arts, other companies will have similar dotted stamps.
I first folder a kraft card into invitation size. I rounder the outer corner. Then on white cardstock I used the background stamp and ink. I trimmed the cardstock and rounded the edges and glued it down. Next, I stamped with black ink (Memento) onto white cardstock using a new stamp set taht I have. It is from Avery Elle. I stamped the frogs, lily pad, floral images and cat tails. I used Copic markers to color these images. I placed a patterned paper piece from My Favorite Things on top the background stamped image, to simulate water, and rounded the bottom corners.
Next, I trimmed a plain piece of white cardstock and stamped the sentiment. I added the other images and mounted the frogs using dimensional adhesive. I saved one floral image to put atop the ribbon, which I added last and tied.
Please join us in the challenge! Then check back to the Retro Rubber Blog one week from this Sunday to learn the challenge winner! I can't wait to see your creations!

I had a great time doing this challenge. First I took pink cardstock and folded and trimmed it to invitation size at 5 1/2" by 4 1/4". Next, I trimmed a piece of violet cardstock slightly smaller and glued it down. Then, with an even smaller piece of white cardstock, I ran it through an embossing folder by Darice, then adhered it to the card front.
I tied a piece of light pink (sheer) ribbon to the left. Then, I used a piece of patterned paper in grey tones, trimmed it smaller than the white cardstock, and rounded the edges, Using a Spellbinders die, I trimmed white cardstock into the circular shape shown. I stamped directly on this piece using my Misti and stamps that are a few years old from A Jillian Vance. I colored the stamped images using Copic markers. I did the shadows in grey. I found a fun, very old brad in my collection in pink with a button like appearance. I thought this would be cute in the tire center.
I used an EK Success adhesive heart, then using dimensional adhesive I added the grey paper and scalloped circle to the card. Quick, simple and fun! I love this older stamp set and can't part with it!
