Come join us at the Retro Rubber Blog for the Holiday Challenge!

Come on over and join us at the Retro Rubber Blog for the holiday challenge!  It ends on January 2, so there is still plenty of time to play along!  The colors for the challenge are blue, silver and white.  Use a stamp over one year old on your project, and voila!  You are in on the challenge!  Here is what I created this time for the challenge:

And here are the guidelines for the challenge:

I love these challenges!  They really get me out of the box and using my old, loved stamps!  This santa is from Hero Arts, and I colored him in with markers.  I also used Wink of Stella, a SRM sticker, and ribbon.  Also, some gems and Stampin' Up paper.  Please join us!  Hope to see you at:

Time for another fun challenge at the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog!

Hi everyone!  Thanks for coming by!

Today, another fun challenge goes live at the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog!  This time, the challenge is to use the provided sketch, and combine that with an older (older than one year) stamp in your collection in a Christmas/Winter/Holiday type theme.  By doing the challenge, you will end up with a lovely card to give to a loved one this holiday season!  (and you may be motivated to make even more cards to give!)  A win/win!

The sketch is:

And, here is my creation made using an older stamp and the above sketch!  I have had this snowman stamp for years and I just adore him so much!  I colored him with Copic Markers on a sheer paper.    The text stamp is also an older stamp in my collection.  I forgot about it!  Now it is visible again!

I also combined my cardmaking this go around and entered this card into an "anything goes" style   challenge over at the Crafty Catz Challenge Blog.  Check it out!  For my card above, I stamped and    fussy cut the snowman, then colored him.  On the general card I placed patterned paper, coloring in   some of the snowflake paper.  I added a sentiment and colored some of that as well.  Finally, I added a twine bow up at the top.  I think the result is fun, and I can't wait to give it to a friend this holiday!

So come join us at the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog for this fun challenge!  I know you will enjoy!

First Retro Rubber Challenge, Join The Fun!

Hi!  Recently I joined the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog Design Team and I am so grateful to be on this team! I love stamping, and have been doing it since 1996? It has been so long, I am having trouble remembering exactly how long. I started stamping when a friend invited me to a Stampin' Up party. I remember asking her "Stampin' What?" I didn't even know what stamping was! Basically, I was immediately hooked on this hobby.

My project today was created for the current Retro Rubber Challenge, but is also being submitted to another challenge, the Moxie Fab Challenge (closing Nov. 5 at midnight). It can be found here: http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2014/10/fabulous-friday-challenge-just.html The Moxie Fab Challenge is based on a photograph image.

Challenge #1 RRCB:

The first challenge for the RRCB involves pulling out your oldest stamp.  (it could also be any stamp older than 1 year old).  It can be a text stamp or an image stamp, it doesn't matter.  Use this stamp on a fresh creation that you make.  It could be a card, layout, altered project, etc.

For my project, I used an old acrylic text stamp set that I own.  I love how versatile it is.  Here is my creation for the challenge:

The Retro Rubber Challenge Guidelines can be found here:  Retro Rubber Challenge Guidelines.  Please join us!  It will be super fun!  And it will get you crafting older long loved products.  So join us and thanks for stopping by!

I have exciting news! I am on the Mod Squad!

I am so excited to report, I have been asked to join the design team at The Retro Rubber Challenge Blog!  This blog encourages crafters to use their older, unloved stamps on projects.

Don't get me wrong when I say, I loooove working with new crafting products! But, there are times when i feel like I need permission to use my old favorites. It often doesn't seem "fashionable" to use older products.

That's why I am so excited about the RRCB!  The RRCB is officially giving me the green light to use older crafty pieces in my collection. I love that!

I am looking forward to working with the other girls on the team, and the owners of the blog.

Challenges will be posted every other Tuesday on the blog. So come join the fun!  And, I didn't mention that at RRCB, we are all about supporting our challenge participants. We greatly value all of our  friends who stop by the blog.

So check it out, and join the fun!  New challenges will be starting soon so stay tuned!  Thanks for stopping by!

Crafting news and more!

Today, I am here with some news and more!  First, my term has ended with My Scrap Chick, it was a lot of fun and I learned a ton about SVG files!  So glad for that experience!

Next, I signed onto Scrap N Art Magazine's Design Team for a 6 month term and ended up staying over a year and a half!  So shortly, I will leave SNA as well. It has been a great time!

So I am crafting for "me" now, and it is working out fine. I am starting some challenges, how fun!  I am totally rusty, so my first challenge card doesn't reflect my best abilities by any means, but I had fun and right now that's what counts!

Before I leave you, I need to tell you the September 2014 issue of SNA is live and awesome. So click on the SNA link above to check it out!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Today I am posting a project that I absolutely love from My Scrap Chick!

I love this project so much!  It is so adorable and really easy to work with!

It is from the My Scrap Chick cutting file named Healing Heart Trio, specifically the Bandage Card #1 file.

Isn't it adorable?  There are several parts to this file, that could be given to an ill person along with this card.

I used different colors of cardstock here, and patterned paper from My Mind's Eye, the "Love Me" Collection.  Also, I used some twine, a button, some gems and a piece of ribbon.  And finally, I used regular and dimensional adhesive from Therm o Web.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and please be sure to stop by at My Scrap Chick!
