Anyone up for crafting this weekend? I did a bit this week, some submissions to magazines, and I took a class at Archivers on mini Valentine's Day cards, too fun!

I have a few cards I might like to put together this weekend, if possible.

I am so excited, I am receiving a Cameo Silhouette for my birthday! Then I will just have to learn to use it! So many people up here are buzzing about the CS, I am just so excited to try it!

I don't think I am. But I'm getting there! Do you do special crafting for NY? How about cooking, do you do special cooking for NY?

We usually just have an intimate gathering, with family fun. Fun appetizers that our girls pick out, that Bob and I love also.

Are you looking forward to any upcoming crafting? I recently made some Valentine's (see SRM's blog!), and I am working on stamping with Gamsol. Next, I am thinking of creating cards using the Gamsol'd images I created, working in layers, and creating fun scenes! New territory for me!

Had a blast making several cards this week. Most were for magazine publication calls, so no posting here now. But I hope to get a couple more done over the next sev. days, and hope to post them up here!

Holiday card making has me thinking about holiday shopping. I "just" started shopping yesterday. A few things my little one wanted. How about you? Have you started? When do you think you will start?

I've also been placing recipes aside, that I may try out for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Do you try out new recipes each holiday season, or stick with the proven goodies?

I have been making some projects, and actually so has my daughter! She's having a big time making cards!

Things have been so crazy busy over here! I finally got my Sketch 12 card done! Here it is, using SRM Stickers adorable stickers, from the set "We've Got Your Stickers Plus #54002 Birthday".

So, I am going to be taking somewhat of a sketch break, lots of upcoming projects need completion, and school is letting out in 26! days! Loving these triggers. Getting cards made quickly and easily! Here's the Moxie Fab Challenge Link, come join the fun! The challenge ends April 10th! I loved this challenge, the bold colors, the floral images, the thread, inspired me to make this card! I NEVER sew on my cards. It's not that I haven't wanted to. But this challenge got me moving and sewing, and I loved the texture the thread created on the card! It felt like I was touching Cath's trigger picture, with the soft yarn. I used three different patterned paper lines, including Pink Paislee, and Crate Paper. I love mixing paper lines and designs! The soft green bloom again I incorporated for the "touching" factor. Of course I had to use stickers from SRM, which I adore, the "make a wish" is from Sticker Sentiments #51003 Happy Birthday and the "30" is from We've Got Your Number #48095 Extra Large. (aren't these large numbers so fun?!)

I had FUN with this one! I created this card using Teresa Collins' fab paper, (esp. love the one that looks like fishnet stockings!), a balloon cut from awesome Echo Park patterned paper (fussy cut, around the balloon cords), cardstock, scallop trimmer, Making Memories striped button, Tonic trimmer, dimensional adhesive, Century Gothic and Festus! fonts, scissors, and of course super cool SRM stickers from the We've Got Your Sticker #53003 Sweet collection! Had fun pointy cutting the "fishnet" paper and rolling the edges too! Thanks for looking! And there is still time for you to do the balloon challenge too, it ends on midnight April 18th! Woohoo, my crafting energy has been restarted, and here is my take on Sketch 10! Please join me, you have all weekend! Just load sometime on Monday, or early next week. I will post Sketch 11 sometime early next week! I used Echo Park Paper "Be Mine" (so pretty!), and SRM Stickers We've Got Your Sticker #53003 Sweet, in white. Do these stickers ROCK on black paper or what??!!! They are so vivid, so easy to see, so striking! I am very passionate about them! Had so much fun making a card using the Tuesday Trigger and Play Date Cafe Challenge! It is so interesting to me how a photograph and colors can inspire a craft project! I created a card using the Trigger and the card also meshed with the PDCC 75, with patterned papers by The Girls Paperie, My Mind's Eye and LilyBee Design. I also used Imaginisce floral making kit, Recollections paper flowers, Color Box ink, Crate paper border, EK Success punch, Tonic Trimmer, cardstock, Therm o Web adhesive, and of course, SRM Sticker Sentiments #51006 Thinking of You. I loved the vertical line of the Trigger, as well as the color combo, and how cool, it is so similar to the PDCC color combo..! Why don't you join the fun?! Project submissions are due by April 3rd for the Trigger. The deadline for the PDCC is Tuesday.. So there's plenty of time to create! Moxie Fab Blog - Tuesday Trigger

Feeling reeeaaally crafty today, thanks to Paper Crafts Magazine, just received the most recent issue last night, and I have a card published in the magazine, after three long years of not crafting much at all!

Here's my take on Sketch #7, Archivers cardstock, Basic Grey patterned paper (blue), Bo-Bunny patterned paper (alpha print), and Crate Paper Restoration Collection (red). Also, used SRM stickers (LOVE them!), from the Express Yourself Collection, #42021, Birthday. (birthday sticker and two star stickers) Ribbon from the Ribbon Collection, used my new Spellbinders (yay!) tag die, and some sparkly "gems".

What a great card! I always seem to have a shortage of cards suitable for graduates. Karen's "journey" card is so perfect, and with graduation season upcoming, I wish I had a whole box of them! I am such a sucker for squared cards and rounded corners! This is such a soft, lovely and feminine card! I can almost "feel" the lace through the picture. The little girls are adorable. That patterned paper is so perfect with the tone of the card! THANKS Christine for sharing your wonderful card with us! You are inspiring me to get crafty today, and that wasn't at all in my plans! Wow, the weeks are really flying by! I can't believe I am on sketch 7 already! I have to say these sketches are certainly helping my creativity in the new year! Along with dear, inspiring crafty friends, who create artwork and share it with me! And wonderful products such as SRM Stickers, that keep my mojo for creating flowing! So without further delay, here's handmade sketch #7. I hope you will join me in creating a card, layout, etc...from the sketch. Remember, the sketch is just a guide, do what you like and what feels comfortable to you. This one is super simple, I am thinking ribbon running horizontally and vertically, or strips of patterned paper in the same format, a sentiment in the lower right corner, I love circular shapes so I am thinking of adding one to the sketch, or maybe using my NEW Spellbinders machine to add a shape!! I will put up another sketch in one week. Please join me in creating this week!

Simple, easy card for sketch 4 - much thanks

Pinching myself, can't believe I finished my card already for Sketch #4. It's simple, quick and easy, and basic which allowed its quick construction. And a special thanks to Janette for getting me motivated to craft today!

Using some old supplies in my stash, Lasting Impressions patterned papers, flower printed from Lasting Impressions software, tonic trimmer, misc. ink, misc. white cardstock, sentiment (mounted atop white cardstock trimmed) was a recent purchase from Archivers, the brand escapes me at the moment, Stampin' Up pop dots. I cut a piece of patterned paper on an angle, matched up the pattern, and folded down the top to make the diagonal line.

The scan is a little wonky, because I wanted mega dimension on the flower and double pop dotted it. Thanks for stopping by, please join me in making a card for Sketch #4!

I am going to extend this one out a bit. I know everyone is super busy and being pulled in so many directions. Again, I simply set up this blog to motivate myself to get crafting, but I'd love company on the journey, so no pressure, but if you feel like joining me, I'd love it!

I will put the "due" date on this one for sometime the weekend of Jan 22. That is going to be a crazy busy weekend for my fam., as some of us are going out of state, to do something exciting and fun! So, we'll see how I can do meeting that deadline! Here is the next sketch in all its handmade glory, hope you can join me!

I am thinking personally of making this a Valentine's Day card, since the holiday is approaching. Some mojo ideas, red/pink felt, stitching, journaling style sticker, that circle with the line thru reminds me of one of those "do not" signs, LOL, that could be fun in cardmaking! The angled line meeting the horizontal line has me thinking "pocket". I am thinking this might be a fun sketch to turn counter clockwise. The circle also has me thinking large button or flower.

Card Sketch #3, finished!

So this time, I am trying something different, previously I made a paper card, and a digital card. This time, I have a digital to print card, that I have printed. I love making cards like this, I can save them in my computer system, and print a copy any time I need a card for this particular sentiment.

I used Photoshop to make this card, then printed it on my printer using matte white paper.

So here we are, in 2011. I started this blog to get me motivated and moving towards making cards in 2011. So far so good! I have two cards done, and can't wait to get started on the next!

Here's this week's hand made sketch. It is sized 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" but feel free to alter the size to suit your needs. I hope you will join me in making a card this week.

Been working with some Bo-Bunny products, I just love how colorful they are. My 15 year old even sat down and made a card with me, with the Bo-Bunny.

Make a card, with paper!

Using Sketch #2, and a bag of goodies I purchased at Archivers, I made a card using paper (not digital!) products!

It really gave me a relaxing feeling to craft, and I honestly think I slept more peacefully last night as a result! So here's to crafting before bedtime!

Oh my gosh, it is totally making me feel like crafting! The cards, the sb pages, the home decor, makes me want to dig into my paper stash and make something!

I really don't do any scrapbooking anymore, I make my girls annual journal books to preserve memories for them. But I have to admit, I am sooooooooooooo glad I scrapbooked so many pages and events for them.

Today I saw a layout of Rylie on the high bar/pit bar at the gym, at age 4. And a layout of Karlie singing at solo night for the 5th grade choir. Although 6 years have passed since I did the layout of Rylie and 5 years have passed since the layout I completed for Karlie, it is so interesting how their lives have remained constant over the years, in terms of their likes and dislikes.

It's such an important part of their history. So glad those memories are preserved for them.

It's a busy week, and it's hard to work in time to do a card sketch. I am hoping maybe on Sunday to get to make a card using this week's sketch.

Please don't feel any pressure to work in a card this week. When I set up this blog, I did it to hold myself accountable and motivate myself to get back into some crafting. We all have different goals and plans, right?

If I don't have a chance to get back in here before Christmas,I would like to say I hope you all have a blessed holiday week.

Second sketch, come have some fun!

Ok, so it's a crazy, hectic time of year. Which doesn't leave much time for card making....but, give yourself a break and sit down with some cocoa, and crafty supplies, pull up the sketch, and have some fun, for you! (by the way, Santa said he was bringing you coal if you didn't take more "me time" in 2011!!)

Here's my second sketch. Because I am such an expert scanner (NOT!) I see sketch number one trying to peek out behind sketch #2. Don't be fooled! haha

This one is a mix of horizontal and vertical lines, a wavy line, and a circle. But please feel free to change it up to suit your needs. Don't hesitate to turn it, change it, etc...

I am thinking my Creative Memories trimmer for the wavy line. Because I am going to TRY to go paper this time. But, sometimes the best laid plans.....

So I may be doing digital again. We'll see, this week coming will actually be "less" busy for me, believe it or not!

Ok. so one week for this one, I know you won't want to load a project on Christmas Day, so how about we say sometime the weekend after Christmas being the goal for a completion time. Maybe that weekend will be a bit slower, and perhaps you will feel like unwinding a bit and crafting after Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?

Let's go with a technique added to the sketch this time. Something easy to get things rolling. Like layering patterned paper with cardstock. Just for this sketch.

Some optional ideas popping through my head include:

Thin ribbons for the lines.
A circular sentiment sticker for the circle.
Using a photo in the circle spot.
Stitching for the lines.
Making the wavy line into a pocket, could be awesome to hold a gift card or money, or perhaps a message.
Coloring in the lines with markers, such as Copic.
Stamping a circle atop the lines, leaving the circle "empty".
Cutting thin strips of cardstock for the lines.
Using border stickers for the lines.
Adding glitter or small beads, flocking, or embossing to "fancy" things up a bit.

That's it! Have fun, let me know how it goes, remember I'd love to see your final project!
P.S.. If you are still working on sketch 1, no problem, this is a no pressure blog, and although time guidelines are given, they are not set in stone. :-)

Ok, well I made it in Photoshop. Need to print it. Saved it as a Photoshop file in my computer, so I can tweak it up a bit before printing. That's one thing I love about making cards in Photoshop, I can save a file, go back in another day, and see things I didn't see prior, that I want to change up. Such as adding dimension, changing text sizes or colors, or fonts, etc...

So, here it is, let me see yours!

So here it is, in all it's hand drawn glory, straight from the pages of my notebook, wrinkled up and all (LOL), from me to you, SKETCH NUMBER 1!

Again, I want this to be about FUN crafting, not pressure crafting, so let's touch base this time next week, to share projects!

Please feel free to turn the sketch, alter the sketch to suit your desire, and please don't feel limited to card making! That's what I plan to do this go around, but you could make a holiday tag, incorporate this into a scrapbook page, use it to design some holiday decor, or home decor, or whatever YOU want. FUN is the object!

Some ideas rattling around in my brain, include:

Placing sentiments in the "bubbles".
Making the "bubbles" out of patterned paper.
Making the "bubbles" into something "tab like".
Making the "bubbles" into liftable flaps, with hidden messages beneath.
Placing photos on one or more of the "bubbles".
Stitching the "bubbles".
Placing a ribbon on the horizontal line.
Using different cardstock colors for the "bubbles".
Mixing cardstock and patterned paper for the "bubbles".
Making the "bubbles" out of felt.
Adding a jingle bell to the card. :-)
