Join us for a new challenge at the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog!

Hi thanks for stopping by!  Come on over at join us at the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog for Challenge 29, the "Ho Ho Holiday Challenge"!  Fun, right?!  This challenge involves using a stamp one year old or older, and creating any holiday crafting project!  Perfect timing!  Here is what I created for the challenge and the challenge graphic:

I used pink cardstock and a background die, and I removed part of the cuttings from the background.  The stamp is from Stampin Up, and I used black ink onto cream cardstock.  I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut the stamped image.  I added the ornament to the card, and added string and gems.  With red ink I used a very old "Joy" stamp to place a sentiment in the lower corner.  (the main card is folded white cardstock in the invitation size)

Please join us over at Retro Rubber!  I'd love to see your creations!  And check back at Retro Rubber a week from this Sunday to learn the challenge winner!  Good luck!

Here is the project that I created for this exciting event:

To create this greeting card, I first scored and cut a piece of kraft cardstock to a standard A1 card size, 4 1/4" by 5 1/2".  Then, I took a piece of Copic Mini Pack Paper For Markers and several colors of Tim Holtz Distress Ink (mostly in light purple, light blue and darker blue shades) and sponged the ink to create a sky background.  Next, I took the snowflakes stamp from the Reverse Confetti Jolly Holiday Stamp Set and my Versamark Embossing Ink Pad and stamped a snowflake pattern to the background.  Using Recollections Snow Detail Embossing Powder and a heat gun I embossed the snowflakes.  Next, I cut by hand two snow hills and attached them to the sky background at the bottom.  I glued this entire element to the front of the kraft card.  On a small piece of paper, I stamped the reindeer image from this same stamp set using black ink.  I colored the image with markers.

Then, I cut the trees from a holiday paper pack from The Paper Studio.  I attached the reindeer and trees to the card using dimensional adhesive.  Using the Reverse Confetti Winter Words Die Set and a tablet of American Crafts Metallic Cardstock (gold) I die cut the word "peace".  I used another paper from the Paper Studio paper pack and cut a strip for the bottom of the card.  I attached this strip then added the die cut word using dimensional adhesive.  I glittered over the die cut, the trees, the snowflakes, the snow hills, and the  reindeer with Wink of Stella (clear).  I added gems to the reindeer's eyes and nose.  I colored the reindeer's antlers with Wink of Stella in gold.  I cut an extra embossed snowflake and placed it atop a golden bow of string tied to the card.
